Orlando LGBTQ+ Wedding Photography at Bok Tower | Amanda + Nancy

Bok Tower Gardens is a beautiful location in Lake Wales, Florida, that offers stunning gardens and landscapes, making it the ideal backdrop for photography. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a queer couple who met while working at Walt Disney World.

The couple's story is one of chance encounters. They both worked at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, where they bonded over their mutual love of Disney and each other.

When the couple asked me to capture their love story at Bok Tower Gardens, I was thrilled to be part of their journey. We began the photoshoot near the iconic Bok Tower, which offers stunning views of the gardens and surroundings.

As we wandered through the gardens, the couple's love and joy were palpable. They were completely at ease with each other and the natural surroundings, creating an effortless and natural atmosphere for the photographs.

We explored different areas of the gardens, stopping at various locations to take pictures. Every spot we visited provided a unique and beautiful backdrop, from the tranquil reflection pool to the colorful array of flowers and plants.

As the day went on, the couple's love and connection only grew stronger. They laughed, hugged, and kissed, showing their genuine love and affection for each other. It was a joy to capture their love story and see how much they cherished each other.

2022

Back in 2020, I felt skeptical that a normal wedding season could ever be possible again. But 2022 proved that weddings are back mostly as we’ve always known them with some pandemic wedding trends, like curated guest lists and private vows, sticking around. My favorite trend that’s been gaining popularity is booking non-traditional venues like a restaurant or private residence backyard. In 2022, I was even able to shoot a wedding in the middle of Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Orlando! 

2022 was also a transition year for me. My wife and I packed up our lives in Boston and moved 1,285 miles south to Orlando, FL. It’s been so interesting learning the subtle differences between these two wedding markets! For example, Florida’s wedding season is opposite New England’s with Floridian couples avoiding the hot summer months entirely. 

So how do I measure 2022?

  • 45,562 miles flown

  • 23,474 images delivered

  • 497 hours of podcasts

  • 45+ couples + families photographed

  • 27 weddings photographed 

As an Orlando wedding photographer I always bring my passion and creativity to every wedding I photograph. One of the most important things I bring to every wedding is my attention to detail. From the way I compose each shot to the way I interact with the couple and their guests, I am always mindful of the small details that make each wedding unique. I know that these small details are what make the wedding photos truly special and memorable, and I always make sure to capture them in a way that tells the story of the day. This is what I feel makes my Orlando wedding photography stand out.

It’s been a busy and rewarding wedding season filled with lots of travel to exciting destinations near and far to shoot beautiful weddings. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture so many special moments for so many amazing couples.
